Book post!... 'The House of Dracula' by R. Chetwynd-Hayes, published by William Kimber in 1987, with a cover illustration by Ionicus.

I'm particularly pleased with this addition to my Ionicus/Kimber collection. It's signed by the author, and it is in absolutely pristine condition. Whoever owned this book before me loved it and took exceptionally good care of it.

My Kimber/Ionicus index is here:

Practical Artificial Intelligence with Racket

Book

Two months ago, I held a promotional campaign where my followers could download my book for free for 2 days.

In those 2 days it was downloaded some 50 times.

Of course, I am curious to know which of you who downloaded it, also found the time to read it, and what you thought of it.

Thank you!

Once the epub version is ready, I will repeat this promotion.

British birds by Thorburn, Archibald -1860-1935-

"She lacks confidence, she craves admiration insatiably. She lives on the reflections of herself in the eyes of others. She does not dare to be herself."
(in The Diary of Anas Nin, vol. 1)

This portrays a large percentage of women on the social networks.
When Anas Nin wrote it in 1931 there were no social networks. So, the problem is not in the networks, is in us.

Been thinking a lot on how to layout the book AND satisfy all the itches and ideas I have at the same time. This page layout comes pretty on target for doing just that. Its not a traditional page layout by any stretch but it does solve all the things I have been grappling with when trying to put this universe down on paper/

I Didn't Do The Thing Today by Madeleine Dore.

I recommend this to anyone who struggles with this ugly feeling of not doing enough, which is most ppl I think. It didn't exactly change my life, but it did help me feel seen.

An interesting stumble upon for today's QAGOMA Members Club: 'The Vegetarian' by Han Kang (2007) 3pm session.

Betrayals, twists, dangers and manipulations. They are the words I would use to describe this novel. If you are looking for a sinister story where the main character is ready to do anything to realize her dreams, then you are looking at the perfect book !

The Lepidoptera of Ceylon by Moore, Frederic, 1830-1907

Obscura the Cat Sees Beyond is more than a good old-fashioned scary story-its a tail of cleverness and bravery, and a valuable lesson that sometimes, our fears are more scared of us than we are of them!

Title "The Weirdest People in the World: How the West Became Psychologically Peculiar and Particularly Prosperous"

It's in my current TBR pile. It's supposed to be very good but the 600+ page length and physically heavy weight mean it's not a quick read on the bus or while waiting in a queue.

Listening to an audio book of The Cosmic Computer (1961), half way though and I just realised it is basically about bringing back a economic stability and not so much about fighting powerful merciless robots.

Not disappointed tho. Okay maybe slightly.

And like stocks and making companies and stuff. Gimme more robot violence.
