It's clear Dune influenced George Lucas a teensy weensy bit but one of these ways is humans being on planets far out in space.
In Dune the people are humans, although Earth is never once mentioned. Whereas in Star Wars the people are aliens who live on a galaxy far far away. They look like humans but they're not.
I do wander about the history of writing about humans estranged form Earth or creating fiction with human-like aliens in it ...
