Just finished Ben Elton's autobiography, 'What Have I Done'. Great read. He's a major name-dropper, but in his very busy creative career he's met a lot of interesting people so that seems fair enough in the context.
There's also a lot of interesting background to how creative works get made - or often don't get made - which I found intriguing. And it's an easy read too, often broken up into mini-essays within chapters. Recommended.

My wallet doesnt agree either, the same frail one that protests the growing pile of books around the studio. So today I went to sort out my library card at the local library, which I can walk to. It will never be like swimming, but at least my mind doesnt drown while Im doing it.

I've liked the other characters are relevant in the books vs anime where lina always saves the day like superman. I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on the novels or even the anime.
I have continued my slayers readings and vol 6 has been interesting. The anime has merged a lot of events and mix and matched them.I am technically in the Next anime now and seeing how Xelloss has made Lina go "no dont blow up cities and kill people" is either character growth or wild hypocrisy. Girl I know you dropped a dragon slave or two in a city.
