Our Finnish friends got us a beautiful Moomin storybook for our two year old. After some pre-reading we decided it's probably for three year old and up
setting: the family finds a letter where their dad explains how he is about to drown
"Oh, my poor little Moomintroll, your father has probably long since drowned!"
"Don't cry," said Moomintroll. "He might be sitting in a tree somewhere nearby."
"Dear child, if only he were," said his mother, wiping away her tears."
Re-reading Red Dwarf after 25 years, and this quote has aged particularly well (about a space mission blowing up 128 stars to spell out a Coca Cola ad in the night sky):
"The cost of this single, three-word ad in star writing across the universe would amount to the entire military budget of the USA for the whole of history.
So, ridiculous though it was, it was still a marginally more sensible way of blowing trillions of dollarpounds."
