I try to remember the first book written by Cyprian Ekwensi. Cyprian Ekwensi is a household name. We all Just know him.
People of the City is a whom one would find it difficult to keep aside for even a sec. The storyline feels dull yet much captivating to drop.
Ekwensi Cyprian did well.

Just published the new release of my book:

Main changes:
- Some common code is moved to separate files (e.g. figures and tables.) It will make the translation of the book easier for new languages and will also simplify the improvement of the already translated parts.
- Fixed some errors and typos (thanks to for proofreading the English version.)
- New subsection "Getting the size of an array."

"That's a lot of killing, and each year it gets harder."

Jeffrey Lockwood is an entomologist whose methods kill billions of animals. Like an insect Oppenheimer he reflects on his work.

The essay is named "To Be Honest" and included in the book "Grasshopper Dreaming" (2002).

They're his reflections on the quest for efficient cheap killing & the silence that follows.

I sometimes reread it trying to understand how we internalize this stuff. Can't say I'm close.

Honestly, how could I read this on paper when Gunnar Hansen - THE ORIGINAL LEATHERFACE - offered to read it to me himself on audio
That's an offer I just can't refuse!
My confession, though, is that even I'm big into horror, TCM never really... hooked me (I'll see myself out). It may have been because I came up on 80s slashers and TCM was just too brooding and atmospheric for my young junk-food brain to appreciate.
This doesn't stop me from enjoying the hell out of this book or the trivia that's packed inside. I love learning stuff and this book offers a lot of insights into the filming process in general and the making of TCM specifically. When you get to the end and Hansen says he was going a little mad in real life, dancing with the chainsaw after weeks of being stuck inside that mask and suffering from heat exhaustion/stroke for so long, you feel it.
If you like movies, behind the scenes books, horror, or TCM specifically, this is a fantastic book to check out.

Molly McMurphy is being sent on a treasure-hunt of coded clues within historical and literary treasures a voyage of discovery to uncover an ancient secret society of world guides.

AN ELOQUENT MEDITATION ON LONELINESS comes in the shape of this short, crisp novel about a country songwriter worn down by age, loss, and alcohol. Beautiful and evocative writing. B PLUS
