It's time for this week's post!

Today I am sharing a for semi-finalist, by Eric J. Gates!

Check it out:

this Im not as old as the author, but many of these things bother me as well:

I Wrote The Book On User-Friendly Design. What I See Today Horrifies Me, Don Norman, Fast Company ().

PS: The Design Of Everyday Things is a must-read.

Starter Villain, by , features genetically engineered spy cats and an incredibly rude pod of unionized dolphins. Seriously. Its as awesome as it sounds.

Advanced Pressure Point Grappling: Dillman Method of Instant Self-Defense by Geo.

This Naked Mind: Control Alcohol, Find Freedom, Discover Happiness & Change Your Life

Alcohol is society's most dangerous addiction, causing four times as many deaths as prescription and illegal drug overdoses combined. Yet, we've stigmatized not drinking.

I used to drink once or twice a year. This book has convinced me to cut alcohol out of my life completely. I am officially a non-drinker now.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Hadnt read this since I was a teenager although I did very recently rewatch the BBC series and its not too long since I last listened to the radio series as well. It remains a very funny, well plotted bit of Sci-fi comedy. Adams was the best at what he did.

Finally watched on spurred on by this article in the Times Of India today:

Nicely done .

Now want to read the by Keigo Higashino even more.

The receipt of a message from space is, even before decode it, a profoundly hopeful sign. It means that someone has learned to live with high technology that it is possible to survive technological adolescence
- Cosmos, Carl Sagan

Have just completed reading Enter a Murderer by Ngaio Marsh. Roderick Alleyn, Book 2. The crime scene was the stage of the Unicorn Theatre, when a prop gun fired a very real bullet the victim was an actor clawing his way to stardom using bribery instead of talent and the suspects included two unwilling girlfriends and several relieved blackmail victims.
The stage is set for one of Roderick Alleyn's most baffling cases.... This is a very light detective read. There's nothing too challenging about this, which is exactly why I liked it. Thanks to for suggesting the author.

Or perhaps civilizations arise repeatedly, inexorably, on innumerable planets in the Milky way, but are generally unstable so all but a tiny fraction are unable to survive their technology and succumb to greed and ignorance, pollution and nuclear war

- Cosmos, Carl Sagan on extraterrestrial life

What do you gift the most What books influenced your thinking

McNair was the age I am now when he perished aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger before the eyes of a disbelieving nation. But his life was largely made by a a life equal parts inspiring and improbable against the constrictions of his time and place a life of determination that rendered him the second black person to launch into space, a decade and a half after a visionary childrens first dared imagine the possibility.

I tried reading that Ursula Le Guin Earthsea thingy.

I didn't dig it much. It kinda reminded me of Tolkien's writing: a bit dry, like a series of instructions.

I don't remember anyone spontaneously breaking into song though. So that's a plus.
