New at my Patreon... I'm enchanted by the penguin. You're probably fond of them too. But none of us is as obsessed with penguins as travel writer and nature guide Jamie Lafferty, whose penguin-spotting misadventures are recounted in this entertaining travel narrative and memoir:
Minor Transient Documents of Everyday Life are three line recipes, short stories, jokes, riddles, science projects, love notes, horrors, confessions, and memories. A collection of haiku written between the years 2022-2024. buy it -
I've made it 65% of the way through Mistborn, and I'm honestly loving it.
It's incredibly accessible while having pretty deep lore. The characters are diverse and aren't stereotypical cliches straight from fantasy. Women aren't written like their chest size is their entire personality. The plot is a bit like Oceans 11 with added metals and magic.
I absolutely love it. Can't wait to finish it.

It was nice to get name-checked in this Cincinnati Magazine piece about the book I wrote for the American Sign Museum:
The photo shows the book in-situ on the Museum's flagship 'Main Street' installation, which frames original historic signs in/on storefronts constructed and decorated to reflect different eras of America's commercial past.

I started reading book one in the Rivers of London series but then I realised there were prequels.
Now I just finished The Masquerades of Spring, and I'm glad I did as the main character reminded me a bit of Bertie Wooster from P. G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster

"A Sea in My Name... and a Wounded Homeland"
"My session on my sea came to an end. I returned to my shelter, just a few meters from my shore. I wished I could say, 'I'm returning home,' but a Palestinian cannot own a home in their homeland as long as that homeland is wounded in the hands of its oppressor.
The homeland must first free its pierced body from the jaws of the beasts before it can provide a home, oxygen, and water for its young children."

22-02-2020 I found the Moshi Monsters Pick Your Path Book
Youd think after writing all these books I could join the Society of Authors but Im not sure I qualify! Most of my books have been published abroad (mainly UK and Sweden). I do have one NZ-published title but the publisher (what is now Yoobee) is not an established publisher, but a school.
You can be a Kiwi living abroad and join but a Kiwi living here who is published abroad might be outside their criteria!
Might have to ask them as this sounds a bit odd.
