There is one takeaway here for the purposes of this book, one conclusion that should satisfy everyone in its ability to flatter no one, which is: of course people will flock to conspiracy theories when nearly every powerful actor is lying, obfuscating, or profiteering off pain.

I am really glad Samantha Harvey won the Booker Prize for Orbital. Its one of the best books I have read for a while. Its basically a love letter to planet Earth and its beauty.
