Every year I do my best to read more than the year before. 2023 was again such a year with a lot of books in the crime genre. I really enjoy the books in the series Munch & Krger and Robert Hunter.

I finished reading last night. One by One is the fifth book in the series about detective Robert Hunter and his partner Garcia. Ive been reading the first five books in Dutch and enjoyed all of them until now. These crime stories are easy to read and help me relax at the end of the day or during travels.
There are thirteen books written in this series till date. Book 6 onwards arent translated yet so I will be switching to the English versions from now on. Im starting with An evil mind tonight.
My book ratings for the Robert Hunter series:

Doppelganger by Naomi Klein.
A compelling and thought-provoking exploration of the online underworld of conspiracies and misinformation and political doubling.
Highly recommended.

3rd was This Is Memorial Device - David Keenan.
Once again, I'm glad I re-read it.
Also, I'm quite impressed that I've read 2 books already this year. The next one's a bit thicker, but I've got some long train journeys to and from Plymouth that'll afford me plenty of time for reading.
Enjoyed Codename Villlanelle so much I got the next installment out from the library when I returned the first one.
Woooo!! In progress for the last decade, finally ready to go.
Seal of approval from my . A really good that got translated to multiple languages. An interesting story that might take you down a path of curiosity and anger.

Received this wonderful picture showing the complete alphabet pages out of my Hebrew 1&2 workbooks.
This is showing what I had hoped for, the pages being used as a quick reference to help the student learn the entire alphabet as a study guide.
It makes my day to see this. Its one of many ways I had hoped my books would be used to help others Learn and Love Hebrew. Great work and keep the pics coming

Great new view of Valinor Hills this morning, taken by Perseverance's Right Navigation Camera, with the brave little copter Ingenuity stranded in the dunes.

This expanse of dunes was called Valinor Hills after the fictional location in J.R.R. Tolkiens book The Silmarillion.

I recently finished an odd and delightful about about a woman who had an owl-baby called "Chouette."
At the end, the author summed up all the music that was mentioned in or had special meaning in the book. Ofc, I went to and someone had compiled a playlist of all the tunes!
Bless the person  poingu who took the time to do this! This is one of my favorite uses of Spotify: to bring books to life via the tunes they reference.

POST-DIGITAL CULTURES OF THE FAR RIGHT. Ed. by: Maik Fielitz and Nick Thurston (2019)
"How does the far right operate today This volume presents a unique critical survey of the online and offline tactics, symbols and platforms that are strategically remixed to stake national and transnational cultural claims by contemporary far-right groups in Europe and North America. Featuring short, accessible analyses by an international range of expert scholars, policy advisors and activists, the book offers a plurality of answers to practical and theoretical questions about how and why the Internet has been crucial to emboldening extreme nationalisms in these regions and what counter-cultural approaches civil societies should develop in response".
I bumped into a sentence a few days ago that still resonates with me. It said each is another chance to live another life. That life of characters in the book. When reading a book, I can be in a different world at another time or place through the lines of its writer. Isn't it an interesting interpretation
Wish everyone a happy .
I found a gem of a post today, which announced a new release by authors Jude Ower and Mathias Gredal Nrvig. Titled " for Good: Unlocking the Power of Gaming to Create a Better World for Us All", this book aims to teach how to turn the immense power of gaming into a force for good. Especially in terms of , and similar topics that are often missed or not covered enough. I am loving it thus far
