Tom Clancy
Zostay mi protokoy CIA i wojna wywiadw w wersji instant.
Dzi mam prawie trzy razy wicej lat na karku i wracam do tamtych ksiek jak do starego munduru. Ale nie po nostalgi, tylko po bilans. Clancy jest pierwszym na licie. Dlaczego A bo tak.
Clancy pisa precyzyjnie, mechanicznie, metodologicznie.
W kategoriach gatunkowych - mistrz technothrillera, inynier emocji niskiego napicia, perfekcyjny w researchu (niekiedy maniakalnie drobiazgowy).
W kategoriach kulturowych - twrca mitu amerykaskiej omnipotencji militarnej, machina propagandowa udajca powie.
Czy by wic wielkim pisarzem
Dobro i zo s rozpoznawalne.
Pikny jzyk wymaga odwagi, bo moe poruszy, rozci, odsoni. Clancy niczego nie odsania. Oferowa emocje niskiego ryzyka: ekscytacj, napicie, triumf wiedzy i determinacji.
:-)

As much as I love books, there is nothing natural about reading.
The nature of books stems from limitation - it was invented as a way to preserve knowledge instead of having to rely on conversion.
However, the process of book writing has a fundamental issue. It is not an adaptable form of knowledge - no matter how good the authors are they will suffer from burden of knowledge, no matter how logical they structured it it still won't make sense to some people because everyone learns differently and the more complex the idea, the more exasperate the readers.
Whilst some people enjoy reading as a mental exercise or entertainment, a lot of people read to learn. The tedious steps of having the author to first accumulate and translate the knowledge, then the reader to translate and absorb means there are at least two points of failure (in translation).
And then the publishing industry imposing copyright and word count further complicated the matter.
Books are neither posh nor effective at articulating any ideas if anything we should celebrate the idea that we finally have the technology to translate a piece of information into a language form that the readers desire.
If you are not convinced, look up the cockney bible. Before the technology we have already tried.

"I internalize different worlds and voices, and eventually it all bubbles up into my work, says Jennifer Anne Moses in an online post. In her new collection of 12 , Youve Told Me Before, she succinctly captures a certain segment of life and preserves it between the covers.
The title shes chosen for one of her , and for the itself, has some resonance. In 2021, Moses her first book of short stories, The Man Who Loved His Wife, and it was the same secular, semi-religious, middle-class Jewish America that she put under the microscope then."
